PERSONAL | sai kung sundays

Only two more weeks left of this quarter and my friends and I are trying to make the best of what's left of it by spending some time together before we all go our separate ways during the summer.

But I'm also looking forward to my break because I'll be working on a few personal projects during the summer and fall. This second half of 2015 is going to be so exciting!

HONG KONG | fck prada

Kinda love this photo (kind of want to turn it into a postcard someday). I came across this building in Sheung Wan on the day of my shoot with Li Hui a couple weeks ago.

By the way, I'm procrastinating on my essay right now.....I really should get back to it.

2 and half weeks more for school and its goodbye classes until 2016~

PERSONAL | mother's day

Kept this year's Mother's Day by heading to my Mum and my favourite brunch spot in the city. I've been to a few brunch spots in Hong Kong Island, but in terms of price, ambiance, and food I think Cupping Room wins all.

I also can't say no to the Scandinavian vibes I get from this place, I mean look at those tiles!!! And they make a one of the best cups of coffee in the city--the perfect way to finish a meal!

My favourite: chilli scrambled eggs over toast with bacon & greens

After brunch, my mum and I walked on over to star street to do a bit of (window) shopping. I seriously almost walked away with a { rose gold candle holder } from HAY but I saved that money for a { A.P.C. N°4 candle } instead.

Overall, brunch and shopping was a success! Happy Mother's Day Mama!!!

PERSONAL | project

It's difficult to be committed to a craft when there's school, work, and a social life to worry about. In the end it's always easier to put it aside and tell yourself that you'll just "do it tomorrow", and next thing you know you end up with a list so long that the only reasonable thing to do is to say "fuck it" and then deal with it....tomorrow...

This year I am determined to see things through. No more half-baked promises. I'm just going to do things and then hopefully get better at it in the process. The number one item on my priority list is: photography. Yes, while I do take my camera out to shoot often, I rarely shoot with a purpose--just a shop front here, and a charming street there--nothing special.

That being said, I've made it may goal this year to improve in portrait photography. Turns out, its really fun shooting people. I still need to work with with posing and directing my models but like all things, it comes with practice. And since I don't have models or a studio to work with...my friends will just have to do :P

Isn't my buddy Li Hui is the cutest thing ever?! She's a budding photographer too, so that day we agreed to be each other's photographer/model (which is why she has so many { photos of me } with the same backdrop). We also did a bit of location scouting and discovered some great walls and spaces for future shoots. And we got lucky with the weather that day--beautiful grey skies!

It's always good to experiment a bit. And now I'm beginning to get a better understanding of what kind of photographer I am. Here's to hoping I don't get lazy and continue to better myself and my craft.

HONG KONG | random

I walked right past this building on the way home from a coffeeshop. I liked how it looked among the surrounding buildings, so I took a photo.
I might print it out to use as postcard some day. Maybe.
